Introducing Gamma 4, an Intergalactic Sci-fi Epic P2E Game from Bluzelle

The new era of gaming is here. The global gaming industry is currently worth over $198 billion, with P2E gaming tokens racking up a $15.2 billion market cap.

The crypto space continues to witness growing interest in play-to-earn (P2E) games, particularly with the prolific rise of NFTs and cryptocurrencies. A good number of gamers are now looking towards the crypto space for a chance to make money while doing what they love most.

This fresh curiosity from established game developers can only mean one thing: there’s a lot of potential for P2E gaming, and everyone wants a piece of the cake.

Indeed, there’s enough to go around — but there’s a problem.

Although it’s still early days for this novel gaming model, the current crop of play-to-earn games is in need of an overhaul. Of course, the idea of earning money while having fun sounds great on paper, but it’s a bit far from reality.

P2E games are often an endless stream of mindless grinding, repetitive clicking and yawn-inducing plots. Truth be told. Blockchain games aren’t at the level of AAA+ games yet, at least not in terms of realism, physics, soundtracks, etc.

And that’s okay.

You probably noticed there’s no mention of next-level 3D graphics or vibrant music — again, quite understandable. However, there’s virtually no excuse for poor gameplay; a common sight with the current P2E titles floating around the space.

What Is Gamma 4?

Gamma 4 is a play and earn, real-time card battle game where players can fight against other players (PvP) or against the environment (PvE). Players are rewarded with tokens that they can use to participate in governance or to purchase unique NFTs. Gamma 4 is developed by Bluzelle.

Gamma 4 in-game NFTs are collected in PvE and PvP battles, and the NFT can be interacted with players. NFTs can be used as in-game characters, cosmetics, and can be traded outside of the game’s world.

Gamma 4 features a rich plot with an exciting backstory. Gamma 4 aims to put the ‘fun’ back in P2E gaming, allowing players to equally earn money and enjoy a rewarding gaming experience.

Storyline

Set in a distant future where humans have taken to the stars, a newly discovered living energy source, the Elementi, binds with multiple races across the galaxy and unlocks powerful abilities. 

Initially, the various races lived together in ‘uneasy’ harmony. They met in the Reality Anchor, a neutral ground for various races across the galaxy. The Humans, Atari and Cyborg Goblins all gathered there for diplomatic, economic, and research purposes.

Humans began to colonize nearby planets, and not long after, trouble began. Several generations later, these seemingly habitable systems started to cause genetic mutations, and a decision had to be made: wipe out the mutant race and ‘stop the disease spread.’

The last of the humans teamed up with the mutants and went to war with the alien faction. Sadly, the aliens had more advanced weapons, notably the Zero Sum Desolator. Of course, peace was finally achieved through the Nebula Accord, but not without the death of countless humans and mutants.

The four races now lived together in peace. But a threat was looming.

An ancient race of warriors known as the Crael (or Death Choir) landed in the chamber, followed by the Marauders, a race of intelligent war constructs connected to the Reality Anchor. The Crael went to war with the Marauders, alongside the four races, and lost — thanks to the power of Elementi energy.

The races were finally being unified and the land was starting to heal — until a cataclysmic event happened. After the event, a planetary battle takes place with the different races, ideologies, and factions choosing sides in renewed battle.

The war is not over yet. The universe is now a free-for-all, and every being is free to follow any path in this new age of conflict.

Gameplay

Gamma 4 promotes immersive gameplay, allowing you to compete against players from all around the world in trading card battles. The gameplay is mainly centered around collecting and training characters, collecting and equipping Elementi and PvP/PvE battle modes.

Players can purchase characters with tokens from the Gacha (in-game shop) or through the marketplace. Characters can also be unlocked through NFT drops or as in-game rewards for winning PvP/PvE battles. 

New players can get some free characters for completing the tutorial. Players will grind through PvE to level up their character and increase stats towards unlocking better rewards. 

As mentioned earlier, the combat system is similar to traditional games like Keyforge, Final Fantasy TCG among others. However, Gamma 4 takes it a step further with its rich lore and detailed backstory, enabling you to deeply engage with the game.

You’ll fight against other players in both PvP battle mode, enhance your characters, fight bosses in PvE mode, and unlock exciting rewards.

Gamma 4’s combat system is fairly similar to the one present in other turn-based RPG card collecting games. During the battle, each player can control up to 3 different characters; you can win the battle by eliminating all characters from the opponent’s side.

The combat is purely turn-based; each character’s speed stat will be used to determine when they will play during combat. Based on the character's body parts, each character can possess various abilities during combat.

In the game, the forces of good and evil struggle to own the power of the Elementi. There are 4 different Elementi classes in the game: fire, lighting, water, earth. 

Characters can only equip one Elementi at a time for battle (think of it like a pet or equipment). Each class is uniquely tied to a certain combat situation, where one class is strong against one race and meanwhile weak against another.

Pokemon TCG is renowned for its signature rock-paper-scissors elemental combat. Equipping characters with Elementi will also introduce this system into Gamma 4 to enhance the battle experience. 

Finally, using the breeding system, players can match two characters and breed offspring. For every breeding session, players will need to have a sufficient amount of tokens.

Gamma 4 uses an advanced battle system to progress turns and promote fair gameplay. The final battle result (win, lose or draw) is mathematically generated through characters stats and player skills.

In-game Economy

Gamma 4 has a robust in-game economy consisting of various NFTs and tokens, loot boxes, marketplace and treasury. Players will be able to own and trade these assets in the Gacha.

Each race will have a card NFT that will confer special privileges in Gamma 4. Card NFTs will allow players to start breeding as soon as the game is released and gain early access to additional drops.

The four Elementi classes will also have corresponding NFTs which can be bought from the shop or gotten from loot boxes. Players can use tokens to purchase characters, Elementi, and other resources from the in-game shop. 

The shop will have two components: NFT marketplace and Gacha Loot Boxes. Players can trade characters, cosmetics and Elementi in the NFT marketplace, available in-game. The marketplace will also be accessible from a browser through a web portal.

Gacha Loot Boxes will allow players to buy Elementi/Characters with in-game tokens. There are two types. Limited Gacha will, of course, be available for a limited time and contain rare items. Standard gacha is freely available and players can purchase anytime in the shop.

The play-to-earn gaming model is brimming with potential, but there’s a lot to be done towards widespread adoption. Gamers in the P2E era deserve a decent gaming experience as opposed to low-quality ‘grindfests’ with poor visuals.

Gamma 4 aims to power the next generation of P2E games with its immersive gameplay and raise the bar for gaming in the crypto space.
